2017 was a great year for solar at Envinity! This year we installed over 158 kW of solar capacity for both residential and commercial clients in Central Pennsylvania. Systems installed in 2017 generate an estimated 182,680 kWh of clean, sustainable electricity.
In the last 10 years, Envinity has installed around 1500 kW of solar capacity on homes and business in Pennsylvania. Envinity solar installations currently offset about 1,755,400 kWh of electricity every year. This lessens demand on fossil fuel burning power plants, and helps to contribute to reduced peak energy demand.
This amount of electricity offset is roughly equally to the carbon sequestered by:
-
33,857 tree seedlings grown for 10 years
-
1,539 acres of U.S. forests in one year
-
10.7 acres of U.S. forests preserved from conversion to cropland in one year
The amount of energy offset by our clients’ solar arrays on their homes and/ or businesses is equal to the CO2 emissions from:
-
1,429,320 pounds of coal burned
-
17.3 tanker trucks’ worth of gasoline
-
141 homes’ energy use for one year
We think 2018 is going to be the best year yet for installed solar capacity and annual production increases! We are most excited about expanding our solar installation services to the Pittsburgh area this year!
